I could not find many credible records of major awards or nominations for this version of Barsaat (2005).
The music was popular though, and the film has been discussed for its casting and production issues.

The film is adapted (inspired) from the 2000 Argentine film Nine Queens.
Director Rohan Sippy said: “We had just six weeks’ notice to go on the floors… we wrapped up in just six months.”
Shooting took place largely in Mumbai, on location — capturing “Mumbai like never before”.
Music played a key role — the film re-uses the classic song “Sabse Bada Rupaiya” as a theme track, and the soundtrack contains international flavor (UK-bhangra, Farsi tracks).

फिल्म को सिर्फ “मज़ा-ठगी” की स्टोरी नहीं बनाया गया, बल्कि मुम्बई का माहौल, ठग-जीवनशैली और डिजिटल-शहरी ठगी की बात की गई।
निर्देशक ने बताया कि उन्हें केवल छह हफ्ते का नोटिस मिला था शूटिंग शुरू करने के लिए… और उन्होंने लगभग छह महीनों में फिल्म पूरी कर ली।
संगीत में पुराने गाने “सबसे बड़ा रुपैया” का रीमिशन तथा अंतरराष्ट्रीय संगीत स्टाइल को शामिल किया गया।
मुम्बई के वास्तविक लोकेशंस (मारिन ड्राइव, इरानी कैफे आदि) में शूट हुआ — “मुम्बई जैसा कभी नहीं देखा” निर्देशक का दावा था।
अक्षय कुमार की अचानक फिल्म छोड़ने की कहानी काफी चर्चा में रही।
फिल्म के कुछ गीत चर्चित हुए, जैसे “Barsaat Ke Din Aaye”।
लोकेशन में विदेश (केप टाउन, साउथ अफ्रीका) के साथ साथ भारत में मुंबई स्टूडियो तथा हिमाचल प्रदेश के मणाली शामिल हैं।
फिल्म निर्माण के दौरान कथित रूप से पटकथा बदलाव और शूटिंग-प्रोडक्शन देरी हुई थी।
